Mature Height: 20 - 24 inches
Mature Spread: 12 - 14 inches
Other Names: Garden Cosmos, Mexican Aster
Description:
Cosmos bipinnatus 'Sonata™ Carmine'
A beautiful annual featuring large, vibrant carmine-red blooms with golden-yellow centres above delicate, feathery green foliage. 'Sonata Carmine' flowers abundantly throughout summer and into fall, attracting butterflies and other pollinators. Its bushy, upright habit makes it an excellent choice for garden borders, containers, and cutting gardens.
Jess' Notes:
Deadhead frequently to encourage continuous blooms, and avoid over-fertilizing, as too much fertilizer can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers. Consider pinching plants early on for a fuller, bushier plant with more blooms. Pairs well with Salvia Victoria Blue.
