Dianthus chinensis × barbatus 'Floral Lace Mix'
'Floral Lace Mix' features unique, lacy edged, extra large flowers that are a vibrant light purple in color. These plants grow well in tough conditions. Even late in the season these will still have great seasonal interest with a little deadheading, and with their natural frost tolerance. So for great border color that will last from spring to late fall (with a small break at the peak of summer heat) use this Dianthus for a low maintenance option that delivers color big time! This plant should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out.
Jess' Notes:
Deadhead once or twice with shears through the season for repeat blooms. Despite being sold as a zone 5+ annual, we have great luck with them coming back as a short lived perennial at the club. They also seem to tolerate a little bit more shade than expected.
