Dahlia - Black Forest Ruby

Deep ruby-red single to semi-double flowers shine brilliantly against almost jet-black pinnate foliage, giving this dahlia a dramatic, high-contrast look that stands out in beds or containers. Upright, bushy, and compact (about 50–70 cm tall and 25–30 cm wide), it performs beautifully from summer right through until first frost, offering loads of blooms without needing staking. 

Thriving in full sun with well-drained, rich soil, it’s easy to grow from seed or tubers. Regular watering keeps it lush, and because of its uniform branching and robust habit, it makes an excellent cut flower or focal point. Leaves are strikingly dark, almost black, which enhances the glow of the ruby blooms.
