Description:
Sedum spectabile/hylotelephium 'Autumn Joy"
Rounded clusters of rosy-pink flowers crown upright, succulent stems in late summer, gradually deepening to coppery bronze and rust tones as the season progresses. The dense, mound-forming foliage of blue-green paddle-shaped leaves provides attractive texture all summer long. ‘Autumn Joy’ grows 18-30 inches tall and wide, offering strong vertical and seasonal interest in borders, rock gardens, and mixed perennial beds.
Very easy to grow in full sun with well-drained soil, this sedum is drought-tolerant and unfussy about soil fertility. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators flock to its flowers, especially late in the season when other sources of nectar are scarce. The spent blooms persist into winter, adding visual interest even after flowering ends.
